Paula Cermeño León is a Swiss-based, Peruvian born industrial designer, looking at ways to showcase the value of different plants and ingredients through new product formats both in wellbeing and skincare. She develops new product formats that reconnect with people, that are more sustainable than current alternatives, and that tell the stories behind plants.
She received her Master in Product Design at ECAL in 2017, and afterwards was Director of Industrial Design at PUCP in Lima, Peru. In 2019 she was selected for the first cohort of residents at La Becque Artists Residency in La Tour-de-Peilz, Switzerland. She was a panel finalist in the 2017 Lexus Design Awards with her project "Platanaceae: Banana Leaf Bandages for Burn Wounds". Along with various participations in talks and exhibitions in Europe and South America, she most recently took part in the 2022 Swiss Design Accelerator program in Swissnex, San Francisco.
